Card, Voucher and Mail Finishing Line at Nitecrest

Turnover - Simplicity

Nitecrest Limited, based at Leyland near Preston, is one of the world’s largest producers of card and voucher products.  With huge volumes of time-critical output, Nitecrest continue to entrust Inline Offline Graphics with their systems integration projects for key production equipment.

Brief: Update and Adapt Exisiting Line

Our brief for the most recently completed project was to significantly upgrade one of Nitecrest’s existing card finishing lines.  A key element of the upgrade programme involved an extensive adaptation of the line so that, when required, products could be turned over during the inline finishing process.

Bespoke 'Turnover' Station

The existing production line was first transported to the Inline Offline Graphics engineering centre and then disassembled to its separate modules.  Next, we split the 5m vacuum section and inserted a bespoke “turnover station”, manufactured by Inline Offline Graphics, to form the central section of what was to become a completely re-vamped line.  The final stages of the extensive re-build involved commissioning not just the mechanical modules but also all control, inkjet and camera technologies.

Finishing on Either or Both Product Sid

In its original form, the system could only magnetically encode, inkjet personalise and label on one side of a product.  Now, with the new configuration, every personalised element can be positioned on either side, or both sides, of the product!

Flexible from CR80 to A4

With the capability of transporting and turning products from CR80 to A4 sizes, Nitecrest have shrewdly commissioned an incredibly flexible production line that can easily handle almost all categories of work processed at the busy Leyland factory.
