Inline Offline Graphics and Edale Ltd Install System for VPNT

Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Corporation 

World renowned flexographic press manufacturer, Edale Limited, of Romsey, Hampshire, has provided an A4 duplex transactional mail and secure card production system to Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Corporation in Hanoi, by working in tandem with Inline Offline Graphics Limited.

   

 The system comprises a web-fed duplex flexographic press from Edale, equipped with 2 x 200mm print stations of jet engine HP technology inkjet to print on either side of the web, plus controllers and high-resolution Axode cameras for duplex checking, reject control, etc. The system is unique in its dual application capability.

Secure Mobile Phone Card Production 

The first application, printing telephone cards ‘4-Up’, uses 200mm of contiguous inkjet across the web to print PIN and serial numbers on each card. Cameras monitor every card for print legibility and they also permit integrity to be checked against the job’s secure database.  Just before the press delivery section, another four cameras check the integrity of flexographically printed scratch-off panels applied by the Edale press.  Should a fault ever occur, at any stage during card production, it would be identified and recorded.  Thus, the press-mounted systems from IO Graphics provide variable images at high speed and check the results providing complete production and security records.

 

Transactional Mail Production

The second application, transactional mail, includes regular high-volume production of mobile telephone contract bills. The transactional work uses a second 200mm contiguous print station.  Using a pdf driver, both sides of the web are printed to produce billing information, on a “sheet-by-sheet” basis, that is combined in multi-part sets. The Axode cameras are used to read a unique number on either side of each sheet to ensure that every set is printed correctly and is complete.
